Common questions
Quick answers about finding and comparing candidates.
How do I know which candidates are on my ballot?
Your ballot depends on your polling unit. Presidential candidates appear on every ballot. Governor, Senate, and House of Representatives candidates appear only in their constituencies. State Assembly candidates appear only in their state constituency.
Can I compare candidates from different offices?
No — you can only compare candidates contesting the same office. The compare tool groups candidates by office automatically.
Where does the candidate data come from?
Candidate information is sourced from INEC's official candidate lists and party submissions. We link each candidate to their office, constituency, and party.
What does the thumbprint mark mean?
The thumbprint is a visual reminder of the voting process. Tap it to mark a candidate you're considering — it's stored only in your browser, never sent to a server.
